Administrative Law

Our attorneys have appeared before the North Carolina Utilities Commission, the North Carolina Board of CPA Examiners, the North Carolina Board of Nursing, North Carolina Board of Realtors, the North Carolina Board of Insurance, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, and many State licensing and oversight boards. However, our primary practice in this area is litigation defense, including legal claims associated with contracts, tort liability, leasing and other business needs. 

Our law firm has extensive experience in land use and zoning. Our attorneys have used their local knowledge of North Carolina to obtain critical zoning permits throughout the state. Our attorneys have also litigated substantial special use and other permits before the Superior and Appellate Courts of North Carolina.

Civil Litigation

Our attorneys are experienced civil litigators. Our attorneys have appeared in state court, the North Carolina Court of Appeals, Federal District Court for both North Carolina and the District of Columbia, and before the United States Court of Appeals for both the Fourth Circuit, which includes North Carolina, and the District of Columbia, arguably the most important Appellate Court in the Nation. 

Representation is available if you believe one of your civil rights have been denied. Our firm handles some of the most egregious cases of civil rights violations, such as police misconduct, discrimination in lending, and racial and gender discrimination to name a few. Our firm has recently began representing juveniles appearing in the criminal justice system.

Over the past several years as our education practice grew, we saw a significant need for experienced attorneys to represent juveniles inn the criminal courts, and as a result began working with juveniles.

In concert with the juvenile justice practice our law firm has also begun representing those who have been charged with minor criminal offenses, such as traffic violations, misdemeanor offenses, and driving while impaired offenses. We also offer legal representation for non-minors for traffic violation, some misdemeanor offenses, and driving while impaired offenses.
